Up Your Budget is about the thrill of the hunt; the cunning, timing, and sheer force of will that drives a winner. If you want to Up Your Budget, (and who doesn’t need to these days?) you’re going to need both skill and fortitude.

We want to see you Up Your Budget. Everyone is feeling the squeeze these days. But this is not a treasure hunt for the clueless! You’ll need to hunt the treasure like it was a wild animal. Start by registering and reading the Official Rules and the FAQs.

Get a new clue here every day for a month, to help you find treasures that are hidden in 16 cities throughout the United States. There are four $10,000 prizes hidden every week for a month – with a total of $160,000 up for grabs.

There’s a lot of prize money out there and it’s fair game for anyone who wants to search for it. (Rules and restrictions apply, of course.) What are you waiting for? It takes a clue to find the treasure. Go! Up Your Budget!

Die Grafiken stammen von – der Kenner wird es erkennen – von Hugh MacLeod, einem bekannten Businessblogger.

Die Kampagne lässt eine ganze Blogarmada auffahren, AdRants dazu:

Following the blog-based approach, the contest itself will be promoted almost entirely within the blogosphere with sites like Adrants, MarketingVOX and Boing Boing breaking the story and with advertising promotion on 74 weblogs, including Buzzmachine, Metafilter, Gothamist, Jossip and Busblog, through the BlogAds blog advertising network. There will also be some minimal search engine keyword and IM buys. It will be a true test of the weblog medium’s ability to propagate information and main stream media’s capacity to rely on (and credit) bloggers as sources. The campaign was created by blogger, author and marketing strategist B.L. Ochman and Impax Marketing Group’s Jay Arnold. The Up Your Budget blog was designed by Design4Results’ Komra Moriko and advertising was created by the famed “cartoons on the back of business cards’” Hugh Macleod. Center City Film & Video shot the clue clips.

Na mal gespannt, wie die Kampagne läuft, quasi die erste, große Nagelprobe. Stay tuned!
